Sunday.
0800 - 1700H.
World Trade Center.
No rest for the first week of august, straight activities still up!
And yes, this day was all for Dr. Shiela Videbeck's seminar about therapeutic communication. My bestfriend and I went there together. We arrived there 15 minutes after 8:00 and the line at the entrance of World Trade Center reached almost the highway! Imagine how many students from each Nursing Schools were present that day to hear the seminar that costs us at abour 990 pesos? Well all I could say was, it was more than 2000 nursing students. When you have friends who usually comes early, you could just line up with them not bothering to be on the last line. Ahahaha!
The seminar really started late because there were a lot of students who registered and who are still in line waiting for their ticket to be stamped and be able to seat inside. As I enter the area, we received free hand outs or outline of discussion for that day then we started finding a row for all of us to seat together. Though, we were not seated in front of the stage, it was fine with us as long as we are all comfortably seated together. Hehehe. All for one, one for all. As usually, the last person that would arriving in our group, is no other than Mr. Jan Philippe Crisostomo, who left home at about 9:00! Lucky him, there was till 1 seat available in our row.
The seminar started at about 9:30 (exzctly the same time Mr. Crisostomo arrived and was on line but managed to come inside at about 9:45). During the first part of the discussion, I was so focussed in listening with what Dr. Videbeck was discussing. But as the discussion continued, I got really bored and just talk with my bestfriend and other classmates.
And then there was the first break! Whew! The topic really is boring! Though some of the topic discussed by Dr. Videbeck was already discussed to us, it was really the hardest part to understand, more so, it was the hardest part every board exam.
First break ended. As an evidence of what we were doing then here's a picture. Ta-da! Picture taking! And not just that. We were palying Tara's Nintendo Ds, but don't worry it was in connection of us being nurse and still educative. Ahaha! The first game Janjan and I played was like a "Brain Age" game. And the result of my brain age was my favorite and my all the time jersey number "37". Ahahaha! Nice. Then Janjan got "45", if I'm not mistaken. Then our attention was caught when Dr. Videbeck let's us answer the questions in the hand out. All the student nurses and some other clinical instrustors answered it quietly then after a few minutes of answering, Dr. Videbeck asked it aloud then all answered in chorus. We got correct answers and wrong answers. Hehe. After the question and answer part, Lunch Time! Menu: Garlic chicken with rice, brownies and tetra pack juice. You know what, I'm just being honest but the rice was like been cooked at 6:00 in the morning then was served at lunch time! Goodness! Most of my friends had to go the comfort room for that! And to my surprise, the food was really prepared later in the morning but not 6:00 as I expected but worst, it was prepared at 3:00 in the morning! No wonder a lot of people there got their stomach turned upside down. (I found this out after
Lunchtime ended. Still, we weren't fully listening to the discussion but still somehow, e manage to answer some of her questions. Ahaha! Half participating! Ahaha. =] While we were plaiyng a new game which was "Trauma Center". In that game, we're surgeons doing major operations. The game was really fun! We got addicted that we kept on playing it the whole seminar. The first stage where easy enough to finish because the nurse in the game is teaching us every procedures to be done but in the latter stage, we were the only one to do the operation and as a result, we killed 4 patients already with pancreatic cyst! Whoah! But when we got the chance to finally save the patient, no-more-battery! Aw. Too bad.
At the end of the seminar, schools from different places got the chance to have a picture with Dr. Videbeck but our group just lined up outside to get our certificate because it was really crowded! Before going directly home, we saw that the other entrance door in WTC had an activity with Jolibbe and the gang, so we first got ourselves have pictures taken. Ahaha! The immaturity in us. =]
Then, we headed staright to Tara's ride and went to MOA. But we were really hungry so, we ate in Burger King! It was my first time to be in MOA and the band welcomed me. Ahahah. Feeling? And there I saw a huge picture of the top UAAP players including CHRIS TIU in Adidas. Hehehe. And beside Adidas, my friends saw a power sale! So they really rushed their way in seeing what books are on sale. Well, as usual Janjan and I just waited for them and was on the anime books part and cars. Ahaha. We then went to National Bookstore because Ate Mai was looking for a book for her to study for the upcoming Midterms, Tomorrow!
As we bid our "see you tomorrow", Jade, Ate Mai and I separated with Tara, June and Janjan. We had difficulty waiting for a bus going back to Pacita, so instead, we rode a bus going to Ayala and then from there Jade rode a bus to San Pedro then Ate Mai and I waited for the shuttle going to Southwoods. But oh man. we arrived in the shuttle at 7:30PM and we waited for 10 passengers before the van could go. That was the deal said by 1 of the operators but to our surprised they waited for the van to be full before we departed. It was already 9:30 when we left Ayala and I got so mad that I shouted at the driver. I didn't imagine myself getting mad like that again. Oh the day started right but it ended so bad. I have my midterms duty tomorrow that's why I'm really bothered, I shouldv'e been at home at 8:30 but instead I got home 11:00 and I would be waking up at 4:00AM. I wasn;t able to read my notes, even scanned it. I was really tired, so I put myself to sleep when I got home.
(After that incident in Ayala shuttle, I don't ride there anymore. Instead, I ride a bus going to Pacita.)
